Abstract

850,773. Typewriters &c. SMITH & SON (ALACRA) Ltd., W. H. Feb. 15, 1957 [Feb. 28, 1956]. No. 6131/56. Class 100(4) A pin-wheel platen assembly for a typewriter, tabulator or accounting machine, has, secured to the platen 15 so it may rotate about the platen axis, an anchor plate 16 having parts 12, 29 in engagement with a fixed part M of the machine and pivoted at 11 a guide finger 17. The finger 17 is urged to an edge 26 of the anchor plate by a toggle spring 22 and is held at the requisite distance 27 away from the pin wheel 15 by an adjustable eccentric stop 24. The anchor plate 16 may hold against rotation, a cam which effects radial movement of the pins 18 as described in Specification 408,125. Specification 471,531 also is referred to.
