749,026. Making typewriters. OLYMPIA WERKE AKT.-GES., [formerly OLYMPIA WERKE WEST GES.]. Oct. 15, 1953 [Nov. 13, 1952], No. 28443/53. Classes 83 (2) and83(4). Soldering.-A jig for soldering types on type bars of a typewriter consists of a semicircular plate 1 having an outer flange, an inner recess 8 and slots 2 positioned in the same manner as the slots in the typo bar guide of the typewriter for holding the type bar 19 and a spring clamp 17 for holding the type. The type is held on a support 13 by the clamp 17 and is located by a recess in a spring-loaded plunger 15 engaging with a projection on the type. The support 13 is secured to a plate 10 held by bolts 11 on the plate 1 which corresponds to the form of typewriter. An arm 5, spring-loaded and pivoted at the centre of the plate 1 carries a pin which engages in the pivot hole of the type bar 19 to secure the latter in the appropriate slot 2. The type bar 19 fits into a slot in the plate 10 and passes through a gap in the clamp 17 into the slot of the type for soldering.
