Abstract

907,449. Typewriters &c. OLYMPIA WERKE A.G. July 8, 1959, No. 23497/59. Class 100 (4), A line alignment guide 2 extending the whole length of the platen is mounted at each end on levers 4 pivoted on the platen axis. The two armed lever 4 may be connected by a pin and slot connection 11, 4c with a tear-off rail 5 in such a way that when the latter is lowered into contact with the platen it raises the alignment rail 2 out of the range of the type bars. In this movement a spring 10 crosses to the other side of a pivot 7 so that it tends to hold the guide and rail in their two end positions. The guide 2 is a parallelogram in cross-section and may be resiliently mounted on the arm 4a to facilitate feeding the paper under it.
