Abstract

800,785. Typewriters &c. LAMSON PARAGON, Ltd. Feb. 12, 1957 [Feb. 17, 1956], No. 5068/56. Class 100(4) R.O. Paper guiding arrangements. A typewriter attachment adapted to be mounted on the carriage of a typewriter for transverse movement therewith for feeding continuous stationery &c., has means for quickly and easily attaching it to the throat plate of the platen, and one or more rollers which engage the platen and serve to locate the attachment correctly. The attachment 3, Fig. 1, has an open ended slot 4 through which passes clamping stud 9 to engage a nut secured to the back of throat plate 2. Rollers 6, carried by side flanges 5, locate the attachment by resting on platen 1. The second embodiment, Figs. 3, 4, is for use with a different throat plate 10, 11. Wedge shaped members 13 ensure that the attachment 3a is at the correct angle to the platen. A suitable hole in plate 3a allows access to stud 9a. Base plate 12 has clips 16 which engage edge 11 of the throat plate. If required other guides may the attached to plates 3, 3a. Stud 9, 9a may be held captive on plate 3a or 12 for engagement with a nut, or a threaded hole could be provided in the throat plate 2, 11, instead of a nut. Alternatively the stud could be provided with cam means for co-operation with complementary cam means on the throat plate, or a stud and socket fastener device could be used. More than one clamping device could be used. A single central roller or one or two transversely extending rollers could be used instead of rollers 6, 6a.
