Abstract

1,045,408. Typewriters. P. DRESCHER. Nov. 25, 1963 [Nov. 24, 1962], No. 46388/63. Heading B6F. A typewriter 1, Fig. 1, mounted on a base plate 3 is provided with a web feeding and guiding device comprising a pile container 4 fixed to the base plate and having adjustable side plates 5, 5a. Mounted on the pile container is a web support 9 having two upstanding legs 9d, 9e and converging arms 9b, 9c terminating in a tip 9a for guiding of the web 8 in a relaxed state to the typewriter past a guide 15 mounted on the carriage 2 by means of an adhesive or a magnet. The guide, which may be adapted for lateral displacement on the carriage in e.g. a dove-tailed guide, has two upstanding guide edges 16, 17 terminating in stop members 20 to retain the web in a vertical alignment. In another embodiment the web support 9<SP>11</SP>, Fig. 6, may be mounted on the typewriter frame. In still another embodiment (in Fig. 7, not shown), the web support may be mounted on the carriage 2. In a further embodiment in Fig. 8, the paper support 9<SP>1111</SP> terminating in a hemispherical guide surface 9<SP>1111</SP>a is provided with a hinge 12 for pivotal mounting on the carriage 2. In still a further embodiment the paper support in the latter embodiment may be rigidly mounted on the typewriter frame.
