Abstract

440,116. Inkribbon mechanism. BALDWIN, R. E., 123, Fairlands Avenue, Thornton Heath, Surrey. June 20, 1934, No. 18300. [Class 100 (iv)] An ink-ribbon guide comprises a plate 5 having a pair of projections 6 on one face, so spaced as to guide the. ribbon 4 which passes between them, and a perforated resilient member 7 secured to the plate and engaging over the projections. The plate 5 is screwed to a peg 8 engaging a socket in the platen carriage 1, and is curved to fit the platen and press the paper thereto, so that the ribbon is held away from the paper. The edges of the plate 5 are preferably bevelled to prevent wear of the ribbon. The member 7 is curved back at its upper end so as to be easily retracted from the projection for engagement or removal of the ribbon. The guide may form the vibrator.
