Abstract

1,224,696. Selective printing. PHILIPS ELECTROLOGICA G.m.b.H. 11 Sept., 1969 [1 Oct., 1968], No. 44922/69. Heading B6F. Platen adjustment for various thicknesses of paper.-A platen which extends along the whole printing line comprises a multiplicity of separate clamping elements 8 which are urged elastically to a print head 35, 36 so that side-by-side papers of different thickness can be held and printed with an equal impression. The whole series of separate clamping elements are slidably mounted on a guide rail 12 which houses the elastic material 13, e.g. foam rubber and the rail as a whole may be moved backwardly for insertion of sheets by springs 16, 17 and eccentric discs 24.
