Abstract

740,730. Double twist spindle. SOC. D'ETUDES ET DE RECHERCHES DE MATERIEL TEXTILES. Aug. 24, 1953 [Sept. 4, 1952], No. 23304/53. Class 120 (2). A double twist spindle in which the yarn bobbin is located between a front and a rear disc is provided with a balloon limiting ring located approximately midway between the two discs and axially adjustable about this mean position the ring having an internal diameter at least approximately equal to the external diameter of the front disc. In the arrangement shown the ring 11 is formed from a piece of round section wire the ends of which are located in a support member 12 held in position on a rod 13 by nuts 14 and 15. A brake mechanism for braking the spindle consists of a pad 16 and a bell-crank lever 17 subjected to the opposed actions of a spring 18 and a control rod 19. The latter carries an abutment 20 which can be engaged with a plate 22 to hold the brake in the " on " position.
