Abstract

740,582. Reciprocating pumps. C.A.V., Ltd. July 27, 1954 [Aug. 6, 1953], No. 21706/53. Class 102(1). A reciprocating pump, e.g., for feeding a fuel-injection pump, comprises a cylinder a having a delivery valve m arranged laterally, a piston i moved by a spring k on its delivery stroke and fitted with a non-return valve j, a filter g arranged between the inlet e and the piston, and a cam u for actuating the piston through a lever t and push rod r; the lever t is also actuated manually by rocking the shaft v so that a pin y engages a pin z carried by the lever. A perforated disc c bears against a spring ring d and a cylinder cover f is held in position by a bolt h screwing into the disc c. The valves f, m, are integral structures, including the loading springs, which are held in position. An air vessel n is provided adjacent the delivery valve.
