Abstract
784,331. Reciprocating pumps. COURTAULDS, Ltd. Dec. 28, 1955 [Dec. 29, 1954], No. 37522/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 102(1). [Also in Group XXIX] The inlet and outlet valves of a double acting single cylinder pump are actuated pneumatically under the control of a reversing valve actuated in one direction by a spring and in the other by a solenoid, energization and de-energization of which is controlled by a switch actuated by the pump piston rod. The valves have shock absorbing inserts and self aligning faces ground at about 45 degrees to the stem and which engage sharply angled valve seats to provide line contact. Specification 551,080 [Group I] is referred to.
