Abstract

647,296. Hydraulic shock absorbers. NEWTON, N. B. May 5, 1948, No. 12310. [Class 108(iii)] An hydraulic shock absorber piston is formed with an annular groove b in each end face leaving a medial web in which piston or like valves h are located and guided, some of the valves being seated against one side and the others seated against the other side of the web, a single coiled.spring j in each groove engaging the valve heads therein. As shown, three valves spaced by 120 degrees are provided for flow in one direction and alternate with three valves for flow in the other direction. In the construction described in the Provisional Specification four valves, in all, are employed.
