Abstract

740,521. Reciprocating generators. BOSCH GES., R. Nov. 19, 1953, No. 32051/53. Class 35. A reciprocating ignition generator for use as a gas lighter &o. has a reciprocating magnetic part 13 the movement of which causes a change of flux which in turn induces an E.M.F. in the ignition winding which is so located so as to surround the air gap formed between the reciprocating part 13 and a fixed pole piece. The current impulse thus produced is further assisted by an interruption of the primary winding 16 by a switch 21 which is opened at the appropriate time by an abutment 22 carried by a ram 19. The latter, which moves the reciprocating part 13, is actuated by a cam 17. The magnetic flux is produced by a permanent magnet 12 located in the stator, but as shown in Fig. 3 the device may have a fixed permanent magnet 40 and a moving one 41 constituting the reciprocating member.
