A self-closing valve has a manual pivotal actuator arm 19, 22 extending through a side wall 10 of a conduit or chamber into operative engagement with the valve 17 and a flexible side wall portion 26 surrounding and engaging a portion of the arm to prevent leakage of fluid. The lever 19, spring-loaded at 28 to close the valve, is pivoted at 20 to bosses 21 on a wall of a hose and has the arm 22 entering a flexible closed pouch 26 joined to the wall at 27 and entering an off-set bore 23 in the preferably rubber ball valve, the off-set bore preventing rotation of the valve; The valve may be held in various positions by a pivoted yoke 32 engaging notches 33 in the lever. The pouch may be carried by a removable plug or the lever pass sealingly through the flexible side wall without a pivot pin.
