Abstract
737,059. Spinning textile yarns. FRENZEL, W. Sept. 17, 1953, No. 25708/53. Classes 120(2) and 120(3). In the production of textile yarns, slivers that have undergone a preliminary drafting are given a hard twist which is removed immediately before the slivers enter the drawing head of a spinning frame. The twist may be applied by conventional flyer mechanism and the twisted sliver wound on a bobbin 6, Fig. 2, is unwound and untwisted by a flyer 14 having a gripper 9 located close to feed rollers 8a. Instead of flyers, ring spindles may be used. A modified untwisting device, Fig. 3, has a flyer arm 24 driven from a thread guide 33 fitted with a gripper 9.
