Abstract
734,655. Step-by-step conveyers. JASPER, H. Sept. 10, 1953 [Sept. 10, 1952], No. 25095/53. Class 78 (1). A push-plate conveyer for removing dung from a channel in a stable composed of straight and curved sections comprises a continuous push-rod in each straight section and an articulated push-rod in each curved section. The push plates 41, Fig. 4, are mounted freely on bolts 42 carried by the push-rod 31 and their movement from the inactive position parallel to the rod to the propelling position at right angles thereto is facilitated by the provision of raised parts 47 on the bottom of the channel 45. Each articulated section of the conveyer comprises a series of members 33, Fig. 3, and connecting links 34. The links carry rollers 36 which run on rails 37. The ends of the conveyer are connected by spring means to the ends of a driving chain 32, Fig. 2, which is driven by a toothed wheel 26 on the output shaft 25 of a gear-box 22. The driving.motor 21 has a reversing switch 23, the arm 24 of which is actuated by members carried by the chain. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 668,787.
