Abstract

1,198,607. Scissor hoist; endless conveyer. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHœTTE WESTFALIA. 31 Jan., 1969 [11 Oct., 1968], No. 5386/69. Heading B8A and B8H. The discharge end 23 of a longwall conveyer 24 is supported by a platform 10 mounted on a scissor linkage comprising two pairs of arms 4, 5 each with a guide rail 16, 15 for engagement with a slidable member 17, 18. The members 17, 18 are pivotally connected by a spindle 19 attached to the piston 20 of an hydraulic ram 21, whereby actuation of the ram will move the members 17, 18 along the respective rails to open or close the arms 4, 5 and thereby raise or lower the platform. The apparatus is coupled to a rail 26 attached to the side of a roadway conveyer 25, into which the longwall conveyer is discharged, and is movable along the rail by an hydraulic ram 28.
