Abstract
708,679. Endless chain conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. Feb. 6, 1852 [March 7, 1951], No. 3159/52. Class 78 (1) [Also in Group XXI] In a conveyer, e.g. a scraper conveyer 2, of the kind adapted to carry an extraction device, e.g. a coal planing machine 13, for use in mine working, means is provided for readily fitting the driving mechanism for the conveyer and for the planing machine at either end and at either side of the conveyer. Two plates 5 and two plates 10, each pair of which is symmetrically arranged and constructed, are secured to the side walls of the end section 4 of the conveyer. The plates 5 and the side walls are formed with apertures for the passage of driving shafts, &c. A gear box 6 is secured to either plate 5 and is coupled to the driving sprockets 3 for the chains 2. The gear box 6 is driven by the motor 7 through a hydraulic clutch 8. The motor 7 is mounted on an arm 9 bolted to a plate 10. The housing 11 for the sprocket wheels driving the planing machine chain 12 is bolted to the other plate 5: A gear box 15 is connected to the housing 11 and to a motor 16.
