Abstract

1536289 Drives for mine-conveyers UNDERGROUND MINING MACHINERY Ltd 21 Dec 1976 [22 Dec 1975 4 May 1976] 52379/75 and 18251/76 Heading B8A Bearings 2, 2, for the drive shafts 1, 1, of sprockets 6, 6 of a mine conveyer, are carried by a housing 10 which is fixed to the drive frame 7 of the conveyer. The drive to the shafts 1 is transmitted from an offset-located motor by a gear train 8, and a gear train 16, 17, within the housing 10. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) there is a single sprocket drive, a central scraper chain and the housing 10 is divided into two parts. Plates of the frame 7 are detachable to provide access to the bearings.
