Abstract

733,328. Electrostatic filters. RESEARCH CORPORATION. Oct. 29, 1953 [Oct. 29, 1952], No. 29924/53. Class 39 (1). The gas duct of an electrostatic precipitator is divided up into a number of chambers 10 arranged in staggered relationship and having perforate wall sections, the gas following a tortuous path through a series of chambers. The chamber walls constitute collecting electrodes and discharge electrodes 6 are provided in each chamber. The chambers have closed end portions 10a forming dust pockets. The " perforate " wall sections may consist of perforated sheet, woven mesh or fibrous filtering material such as glass wool.
