729,265. Gas purifier. KLONNE, M., and KLONNE, A., [trading as KLONNE, A., [Firm of]]. May 21, 1953 [June 20, 1952], No. 14283/53. Class 55 (2). In a gas purifier, stacked inserts 12 carrying the purifying mass 22 are arranged in pairs, the space 26 between each insert in a pair being in communication with the annular space 19 between the inserts and the container 11. The gas flow is reversible, but as shown in Fig. 2, the supply is through. three ducts 17 formed by aligned passages on the inside of the walls of the stacked inserts, gas tightness between the passages in each pair of inserts being maintained by rings 13. The gas passes into spaces between inserts alternating with the spaces 26, through the masses 22 into the spaces 26 and through the space 19 to the offtake duct. The ducts 17 may be of circular or part elliptical section. Gas tightness between the pairs of inserts is ensured by the foot 25 of one pair resting in a lute 15 on the next lower pair, the lute being filled with powdered purifying material. Lugs 14 are provided on the inserts for lifting.
