748,008. Containers for tower purifiers. NEWTON, CHAMBERS & CO., Ltd. Sept. 1, 1953 [Sept. 1, 1952], No. 14828/55. Divided out of 747,964. Class 55(2). An oxide or the like container for a tower purifier has a solid bottom 28, a grid 25 for supporting oxide and a central gas duct made in two parts, an upper part 26 which is imperforate and a lower part 27 which has one or more gas ports 23 below the grid 25, the two parts being detachably connected together by hook bolts 29. The container is particularly adapted for use with the apparatus for mechanically breaking up and removing an annulus of oxide described in Specification 747,964.
