The bin illustrated can be stacked on top of a similar bin with its drop-bottom open or closed according to its orientation relatively to the lower bin. The drop-bottom has peripheral flanges 28, 28A of which the latter is formed with slots 39 to take over strip members 20 at the top of a similar bin to permit the drop-bottom to open, while the former is adapted to rest on the strips 20 to hold the bottom closed. The walls 12 of the bin, which slope inwardly and upwardly, terminate at their lower ends in channel members 16 adapted to take over flanges 14 on the walls of the bin below. The bin can be lifted by a shackle 34 connected to the dropbottom by a hollow tube 32 which permits air or other gas to vent from the bin below.
