Abstract

799,512. Ventilators. CROMPTON METAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Oct. 4, 1956 [Oct. 4, 1955; Nov. 15. 1955], Nos. 28162/55 and 32699/55. Class 137 A roof ventilator A comprises a throat member a having a peripheral flange a<SP>1</SP> for securing the member over an opening in a roof, a casing B which has end plates b mounted on bolts a<SP>2</SP>passing through the hollow rimmed upper longitudinal edges of the throat member a, and two inclined baffles C which are arranged between the end plates b below the inturned upper edges c of the sides b<SP>2</SP> of the casing B, and have a capping member D. The baffles C may be stiffened by transverse supports c<SP>1</SP> and may have their upper edges d bent up to lie within. the channel of the capping member D which is closed by ends d<SP>2</SP> adapted to engage over the end plates b. The ends c<SP>1</SP> of the baffles C may be bent downwards, and the lower longitudinal edges may be bent upwards to form drain channels. The lower edges of the sides b<SP>2</SP> may be inclined inwards, as shown in chain dotted lines,. Fig. 2, the end plates b being correspondingly shaped.
