Abstract

915,634. Ventilators. BREWER, C. E. March 23, 1961 [March 10, 1960], No. 8509/60. Class 137. A roof ventilator comprises a base-plate 10 having a central passage 13, a cowl 15 having perforations 16 situated at a level below that of the upper end of the passage 13 and a manually adjustable damper 18 mounted in the said passage. The damper 18 consists of a rectangular plate bent at each end to form flanges 18a which are secured to pivots 19 mounted in the end walls of the cowl 15, and the angular position of the damper is adjusted by cords 20. The passage 13 is defined by vertical flanges 11 and 12 of the base-plate and the angular movement of the damper 18 is limited by a stopmember 21 which abuts against the flange 12 in the closed position. The base-plate 10 may be shaped appropriately to fit any shaped roof having an aperture corresponding with the cross-section of the passage 13.
