Abstract

892,174. Ventilators. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. Nov. 23, 1959 [Nov. 24, 1958; July 15, 1959], No. 39690/59. Class 137 A ventilating device for a greenhouse comprises a box-like member 3, (see Fig. 4), fitted in a wall 2 and having a fresh air opening 13, and air recirculation opening 14 and a supply opening 39, the latter two being covered by gauze. A spray device 10 promotes air circulation and a flap 33 controls the proportion of fresh air entering. Moisture is collected in a drain 42 with overflow 43. The box-like member may be a number of different shapes one of which is rectangular, (see Fig. 6), and is preferably pivoted about a horizontal axis 29, the box having openings 26, 27. A greenhouse (see Fig. 18) is ventilated by a triangular box-like member 23 pivoted at 29 and having a spray 30 to promote influx of fresh air 69 and recirculation of air 54. A deflecting plate 67 with drain 68 guides air beneath cultures 20 to heaters 31 and 32. An adjustable flap 64 controls the efflux of air.
