An endless face conveyer of the kind comprising a framework built up of sections arranged end-to-end is provided at one side with a guide for a reciprocatable mineral cutter comprising guide members which are so formed and connected end to end to one side wall of' the conveyer as to provide upper and lower grooves extending along the conveyer adjacent the wall adapted to receive projecting portions on the cutter and hold the cutter against displacement otherwise than along the guide. Fig. 1 shows the application to a coal face scraper conveyer having a framework built up of sections each consisting of walls 1, 2 connected by a plate 3 and formed with longitudinal grooves 6 in which plates 7 are welded at intervals. The guide for the cutter is built up of channel-shaped members 8 arranged end-toend, each member having secured to its bottom wall, blocks 11 which are connected to the plates 7 by pins 12 passing through the blocks and through holes in the plates. The cutter 13 is provided with claws 14, 15 which engage in the V-shaped grooves formed between the walls 9, 10 of the guide member 8 and the wall 1 of the conveyer. As an alternative, the walls 9, 10 of the guide member 8 may converge from the bottom of the channel so as to provide guide grooves within the channel member, the cutter being provided with suitable parts for engaging in these grooves. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, the channel guide members have a bottom wall 16 secured against the conveyer wall 1 and their side walls 17, 18 bent inwardly at their outer end to form grooves to receive projections 19, 20 on the plane 13.
