A scraper conveyer for use in mines comprises a plurality of line pans, wherein one or some of line pans 13 have at least one portion of one or both of their side members reinforced and of greater thickness than the corresponding portion of each of the remaining line pans 12. The thickened portions 16, 17, 18, 20 are arranged such that the reinforced line pans are substantially the same shape and width as those of the other line pans but are slightly off-set in relation to the central flanges 18 which project into the upper guide path 19.
