Class 78 (1) [Also in Group XXV] 'In a scraper chain conveyer having side chains formed of alternate double and single links, the double links 2 overlapping the single links 1, the scraper bars 4 are detachably attached to selected single links. The attachment of the bars to the single links may be by passing the ends of the bars through slots in the links and securing them by pins 5, or by forming the selected single links with inwardly facing brackets to which the scraper bars are bolted. When the single links are slotted the slots are preferably elongated along the major axes of the chains to receive substantially rectangular extended ends of the scraper bars. The scraper bars may be of square cross-section and may have curved recesses on the vertical faces.
