Abstract

982,591. Scraper conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. Dec. 8, 1961 [Dec. 21, 1960], No. 44062/61. Heading B8A. Lengths of channel forming the sides of a double chain scraper conveyer are connected to chains 11A which are in tension and which extend through ducts 14 provided below side section members 15. Each chain comprises lengths connected together by links 24 of which limbs 25 pass through cup-shaped plates 27 and through holes 28 in side plates 17 or angle plates 16 attached to the side section members 15. The links 24 are secured by nuts 29. An intermediate channel length may be released from a link 24 without removing tension in the chain, the link being protected from bending open by the plate 27. The chains are anchored at one end by chain tightening devices. The arrangement enables lengths of chain to be attached or removed, when it is required to add or remove a channel length. The conveyer is shown in association with a coal plough 10.
