Abstract

1413210 Mineral-mining equipment COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd 17 Sept 1974 [19 Oct 1973] 40384/74 Divided out of 1413209 Heading E1F A track member for the handling of a flexible, round link fixed chain is associated with the haulage means of a mining machine such as that in the referred to Specification 1413209. The track has groove-interconnected pockets 20 for accommodating alternate links 21 of the chain whilst the intermediate links 24, which lie in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the other links 21, are accommodated in the aligned connecting grooves 23. A track so formed allows of longitudinal anchoring of the chain along the length of the track except where it is lifted clear of the track by a driven sprocket assembly on the mining machine as the machine through the sprocket assembly hauls itself along the chain.
