A sprocket comprises five teeth 7 separated by pockets 8 having substantially flat bases 9, grooves 3 being formed in the teeth to accommodate vertical links 11 which rest on the bases 13 of the grooves 3. The teeth are formed with profiled flanks 5, 6.
