Abstract
1,048,178. Endless conveyers. PLACER EXPLORATION Ltd. Sept. 10, 1965, No. 38770/65. Heading B8A. A mine car is adapted to be releasably coupled at 5 (Figs. 1 and 3, not shown) to a mining machine (not shown) and receives the output of the latter in a storage hopper 1. A boom 20 with a conveyer 41 feeds coal from the hopper to a shuttle car (not shown). While the latter is in transit, a storage conveyer 37 which normally carries coal from the mining machine end to the boom end of the hopper 1, is either shut down or made to inch along. The boom can be deflected to the right or left by the action of respective hydraulic jacks 32, 32. It can be elevated by jacks 15. Tension on the chain of the boom conveyer 41 is maintained by springs 63 acting on the respective pivot ends 59 of the return idler 53.
