The line pans of a double chain scraper conveyer each comprise a pair of vertically spaced horizontal deck plates 12, 13 with upwardly and downwardly inclined longitudinal side edges 14, 15, welded to the inner faces of channel section side member 10, 11. The plates are reinforced by transversely extending square section rods (16) (Fig. 3, not shown) dispersed between the plates. Opposite ends of the upper and lower plates 12, 13 are respectively downwardly and upwardly stepped to receive the extended ends of the corresponding plates of adjacent line pans. The line pans are connected together by links 21 having elongated slots 24 engaging pins 22 mounted in recesses in blocks 23 mounted in openings in the side members. The links 21 fit into the recesses and thereby limit the vertical snaking of the line pans by abutment between the link and the sides of the recesses. Horizontal snaking is limited by the length of the slots 24 in the links 21. Attachments such as ramp plates 27 and spill plates 28 are attached to the line pans by bolts 29 extending transverse of the pans between the upper and lower deck plates. Alternatively the ramp and spill plates may be attached by conventional nuts and bolts through holes 31.
