Abstract

1,195,923. Scraper conveyers. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. 18 March, 1968 [20 Dec., 19671, No. 12684/68. Heading B8A. A scraper chain, conveyer comprises a pair of oval link chains 1, 1<SP>1</SP> in side-by-side relation and a plurality of equally spaced locking elements 7 with apertures 11, 11<SP>1</SP> therein to receive the chains, a web portion 10 to space the chains, and two pairs of oppositely directed arms 5, 5<SP>1</SP> and fill, 5<SP>111</SP> on which are attached scraper blades 3, 3<SP>1</SP>. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), the scraper blades are attached on alternate sides of the locking elements. The conveyer may be driven by a sprocket wheel (21), Fig. 6 (not shown), which engages the apertures 11, 11<SP>1</SP> or by a sprocket wheel (20), Fig. 7 (not shown), which engages the external faces of the chains. In the latter case the scraper blades have portions (17) which extend beneath the locking elements and have lower edges (18) at substantially the same level as that of the blades (19), (19<SP>1</SP>) whereby the blades effectively scrape the whole width of the channel (2), (2<SP>1</SP>).
