Abstract
711,311. Endless scraper conveyers. OELLRICH, A., [trading as MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI A. BEIEN]. April 24. 1952 [June 18, 1951], No. 10373/52. Class 78 (1) The framework of a scraper conveyer made up of sections each having superimposed runways for the scrapers separated by a floor which interconnects the side walls of the sections halfway up the walls, is characterised in that the walls are furnished at their ends with apertures which are open at the end and have secured therein insert elements for receiving means for coupling the sections together. The insert elements associated with one end of each section having, beneath the floor, an open-ended recess which faces inwards of the section for receiving a tongue on the floor of the adjacent section. As shown, the sections each comprise channel members 1 connected by a floor 2 and having apertures 4 in which insert elements 5, 6 are secured by welding. These elements are each formed with a pocket 7 having a projection 8, a connecting link 9 engaging over the projections of adjacent sections having a length greater than that of the twc projections so as to permit relative angular movement of the sections. Lips 10 prevent the links slipping off the projections. Each element 5 is formed with a recess 13 for receiving a tongue 14 projecting from the floor 2 of the adjacent section, whilst projections 12 on the elements 5 prevent the loss of conveyed material sideways should the sections be canted relative to one another. Threaded holes 11 in the insert elements are used for securing spillage preventing plates or guide rails for coal working tools. An angle iron serving as a guide for the upper run of the scraper chain may also be secured to the insert elements.
