Abstract

349,225. Endless chain conveyers ; scrapers for transporting material. BARKER, W. H. and BENNETT, W., Etna Works, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent. April 8, 1930, No. 11115. [Classes 78 (i) and 78 (iv).] A scraper chain conveyer moving in a trough for transporting coal &c. has flush side links connected by tubular transverse members some or all of which are provided with scrapers. Flat links a alternate with links b having offset ends to form a flush outer surface closely fitting the sides of the trough, not shown. The links are connected by tubular transverse members e with reduced ends which pass through apertures in the offset ends and are expanded into angularly or like shaped apertures e<1> in the outer links. Scrapers f are secured to, or formed on, some or all of the transverse members. In a modification the links are offset at one end and overlap the ends of the adjacent links.
