Abstract

1,269,578. Endless conveyers. SOVEX Ltd. 10 June, 1970 [27 June, 1969], No. 32696/69. Heading B8A. In a conveyer of the type having an endless band 1 extending over a feed section and inclined section, and a freely sagging endless belt 11 arranged for travelling on the band 1 along the inclined section thereof, the said band is adjustable at its discharge end for delivering the load at different levels. In the embodiment shown the upper section of the band 1 is pivoted between a position 1a for discharging at an intermediate level 5 and a position extending parallel with the main portion of the band, whereby the load is transferred to an upper conveyer 3 for discharge at an upper level 4. The conveyers are supported by plates 10. In a further embodiment Fig. 2 (not shown) the endless band (13) passes around rollers (14) arranged to move between the different discharge levels and a fixed roller (17) whereby the slack in the band (13) is taken up as the discharge level is lowered. The band (13) may be supported by a plate (18) movable with the rollers (14) or by a series of rollers (20), Fig. 3 (not shown), coupled to a chain 21 movable with the rollers (14). In a still further embodiment Fig. 5 (not shown) the discharge end of the main portion of the inclined band (26) is arranged to discharge at an intermediate level (5) and an upper conveyer (28) passes around rollers (30), (31) and is movable between a position spaced from the upper end of the conveyer (26) whereby the load is discharged at said intermediate level and a position wherein it forms a continuation of the conveyer 26 and effects a discharge of the load at an upper level. In a still further embodiment Fig. 6 (not shown) the inclined conveyer (33) is arranged to extend around rollers (34)-(39) to form a loop (32), provision being made to move the rollers parallel to the inclined portion of the conveyer (33) between an intermediate level (5) and a higher level (4). A shoot (40) is arranged within the loop (32) to discharge the load laterally of the conveyer. The conveyer is supported by a series of rollers (41) attached to an endless chain (42) fixed at (44) and passing around rollers (45), (48) which are movable with the rollers (34)-(39).
