Abstract

728,351. Valves. HARTMANN, W. Sept. 8, 1953, No. 24862/53. Class 135. The plug 2 of a rotary cylindrical valve is mounted on roller bearings 4, 41 and the obturating surface of the plug that faces the inlet is provided with a ring 10 of packing material held in by a disc 11 which completes the surface of the plug. Fluid-pressure acting on disc 11 causes the packing material to engage tightly around the inlet port. The plug and easing may be chromium plated.
