Abstract

725,500. Furnace grates. DETROIT STOKER CO. July 20, 1953 [Nov. 8, 1952], No. 20084/53. Class 51 (1). A furnace grate comprises a plurality of stationary and reciprocating bars, each of the reciprocating bars having one end portion thereof overlapping the adjacent stationary bar and each of the stationary bars having one end portion overlapping the adjacent movable bar, together with support means making substantially line contact with the other end portion of each of the bars. As shown in Figs. 2 and 3, the rear end of each bar is formed with lugs 42, 44, between which extends a projection 48 having a triangular cross section, the bar being supported at the apex of the projection on a transverse grate-supporting member 50.
