Abstract

719,632. Shuttering for moulding walls. KEFFER, C. Nov. 1, 1951, No. 25610/51. Class 20 (2) Concrete walls are cast between mould boards 8, 9 held in position by inverted U-shaped frames 6 the initial upward movement of which releases the boards from the walls, the frame being connected by longitudinal members 28, 29, 32, 33. Each frame 6 is composed of two verticals 18 and two horizontals 16, 17. One vertical may be adjustable laterally by means of holes 20. In Fig. 3 inclined lower ends of the frame 6 bear on inclined blocks 11 on the mould boards. The mould is adapted to be raised by tackles 50 supported on reinforcing rods R by means of c'utches 40 comprising a casing through which and through plates 45 in the casing, passes the rod R. The plates are adapted to be held in inclined position to grip the rod by a spring. When the frames 6 are lifted the inclined surfaces first disengage, then the mould boards are raised by springs 24. The frames are held in vertical alignment by gauge bars 37 on bars 35 on extensions of longitudinals 16, 17. This construction, modified for casting a double wall with a window opening, is shown in Figs. 6-10 (not shown) and a frame made of metal is shown in Figs. 12-14 (not shown). In Fig. 5 the mould boards are supported on metal U-shapcd frames 76 by links 73, the frames are adapted to swing down on the links till cross bars 77 engage the top of the mou'd boards. In further modifications the frame holds or releases the mou'd boards by means of semi-circular cams or rollers 129, Fig. 18, spring- urged between the mould boards and trames against stops 131 and adapted to release the boards by moving into notches 132 when the frames are raised.
