582,507. Shuttering for concrete structures. BRADBURY & SONS, Ltd., J., and POWELL, A. D. Dec. 10, 1943, No. 20677. [Class 20 (ii)] A frame for controlling the spacing of shuttering comprises a pair of uprights 1, 2 (preferably of channel-section), which engage the outside of the shuttering below the brackets 12, cross bars 3 connected to the uprights by pins 8, and a cam 10, pivotally attached to the upper cross bar, by a removable pin 8a, adjacent one of the uprights. In use, the frame is applied to the shuttering with three of the pins 8 appropriately placed, and the upright 2 is forced into the vertical position by the cam 10, to align the holes 6, 7 and to allow the fourth pin to be inserted. The spacing of the holes 5 at one end of a cross bar is different from that of the holes 6 at the opposite end or the holes may be staggered to allow fine span adjustment to be made. A dog 11 keeps the lever of the cam 10 within gripping distance of the upright 2. The cam may be attached to the lower cross bar to engage with the outside of the upright. Corresponding holes 5, 6 may be numbered.
