Abstract
647,357. Scaffolding frame units. BURTON, J. Nov. 14, 1947, No. 30259. [Class 20(ii)] A tubular scaffold frame unit has the cross tube 11, Fig. 1, co-planar with the uprights 10 and is connected to the ends thereof by U-shaped members 12 embracing and secured to the uprights and to opposite sides of the ends of the cross tube, removable bolts 20 extending through the limbs 14 of the members 12 and through diametrically formed holes 19 spaced along the length of the cross tube whilst the members 12 are formed with openings 18, the arrangement permitting adjustment of the distance between the uprights 10. The members 12 are riveted to the upper ends of the uprights and are provided with clamps 21 for ledgers 22 and extensions 15 to receive the lower ends of a similar superposed frame unit as described in Specification 641,984. A second cross tube 23, Figs. 1, 3 offset in relation to the uprights 10 may be secured thereto by U-shaped members 24 provided with hinged jaws and bolts 26, 27.
