The end of a scaffold plank s is supported on a scaffold trestle comprising a horizontal U-shaped frame E adapted to be mounted at various heights in a vertical frame A by means of bolts J. The plank passes between bars G, G<SP>1</SP> fixed to the frame E and is secured by a screw cleat L. The ends of the frame E are turned up and have a bearer P for a decorator's paste board.
