Abstract

594,432. Moulds for concrete building units. RIDDELL, J. F. June 7, 1945, No. 14406. [Class 87 (ii)] A concrete building unit consisting of two blocks joined together by metal tie-rods 23, is made in a bottomless metal mould comprising two side walls 11, 12, two end walls 15, 16 removably attached,to each other, and two partitions 13, 14 slidable vertically in angles 17 on the end walls. The partitions have vertical slots 18, open at their bottom ends, and pivotally mounted plates 19 having circular slots 21. The tie-rods are located in the slots 18 by engagement with the slots 21. The plates 19, which have small handles 26 and are held in position by clips 22, prevent concrete from flowing through the slots. The partitions are removed vertically after casting.
