683,087. Moulds for concrete blocks. ROCK, K. S. July 25, 1951 [Aug. 4, 1950], No. 19488/50. Class 87 (ii). In a mould for casting concrete blocks and comprising side shutters 1 for resting on a flat base and end members or partitions 4, these members 4 are carried by transverse frames which are adapted to be passed down over the shutters 1 to insert the members 4 between them and to straddle the shutters so as to maintain them in erected position against the side edges of the members 4. A transverse frame comprises an angle member 5 and two angle members 6 welded to it at right angles and braced by struts 7. The members 6 are spaced from the edges of the end member or partition 4, which is welded to the member 5 so that, when the frame is placed on the shuttering 1, the member 5 lies across it and the members 6 are located in notches 3 in longitudinal angle member 2 on the shuttering and hold it against the edges of the member 4. The mould is erected on a flat surface which forms its bottom, and after the concrete has set the transverse frames are raised, withdrawing the members 4 and disengaging the shuttering. The shuttering and partitions are preferably of sheet metal.
