Abstract

594,897. Casting concrete walls in situ. HARKNESS, J. M., HARKNESS, G. K., and SCRUBY, B. March 22, 1945, No. 7289. [Class 20(ii)] Cavity walls are cast course by course in moulds comprising end frames 1 of inverted U-form connected by longitudinal tubes 7 which carry the side moulds 6 by a parallel linkage 8, the side moulds taking up a position determined by lugs 9 thereon engaging stops 10 on the end frames, and having handles 11 for lifting the side moulds clear of the cast course, preparatory to repositioning at a higher level. Cores 13 for forming the wall cavity, have side and top plates and are secured by projections 12a to downwardly projecting legs 12 on the end frames. The cores may be adjustablymounted, and the inverted U-shaped frame may be formed of adjustable section to suit different thicknesses of wall. End plate 5 for the moulds seat in channels on the end frames, and may be shaped to form a frog in the end of the cast wall section. Angle and T-shaped cores are provided for forming corners of walls and for the junction of partition walls. Specifications 140,284, [Class 20(ii)], and 550,564 are referred to.
