Abstract

694,590. Clamps for shuttering for moulding concrete. MABEY, B. G. Jan 30, 1952 [Feb. 5, 1951], No. 2767/51. - Class 20 (ii) In a clamp for temporary shuttering for moulding concrete structures comprising strips 1 connected to form a closed figure such as a square, the strips being slidably adjustable along one another and held in position by wedges 12 in slots 11, each strip slides through a channel shaped element 3 secured to the adjacent strip. The element 3 has a hook 9 welded to one end and a bolt 5 to the other which engages holes 6 in the strip. The elements 3 may be connected to the strip by a pair of bolts or a number of elements 3 may be temporarily or permanently secured along the strip. The clamp may be used to clamp the top of a wall or beam mould by means of projecting ends of the pair of parallel strips arranged vertically, the lower horizontal strip lying across the top of the mould and the upper horizontal strip being in compression with its wedge inside the cranked elements.
