Abstract

1319250 Erecting buildings L BACCI 25 June 1970 [26 June 1969 17 March 1970] 30841/70 Addition to 1280005 Heading E1S Prefabricated structural slabs with integral edge stiffening beams 2, 2a are lifted by devices arranged one towards each end of each beam and each including a horizontal lower beam 10 supporting the slab via means pivotally mounted on the beam 10, said beam 10 having vertical tie-rods 12 connected thereto, which are jacked up, via an upper beam 15, by means of a piston and cylinder device 5. Each tie rod 12 comprises a number of articulated links, alternate links comprising two spaced plates with opposed oval holes therethrough (Figs. 6, 7, not shown) through which pins 37 can be passed. Each device also incorporates adjustable upper guides 112, 113 for the rods 12, and a fixed horizontal frame 13 on which the rods are supported while the upper beam 15 is moved down between lifting steps.
