Abstract
1,227,099. Platform elevators; jacks. N. H. MILLER. 15 Oct., 1969, No. 50747/69. Headings B8H and B8J A lifting apparatus comprises a mobile base frame 10, first and second platforms 32, 33 vertically adjustably mounted by fluid ram devices 20,. 22 at opposite edges of the frame 10, a first frame 44 vertically adjustably mounted by fluid ram devices 45, 46 from an inner region of the base frame, and a second frame 74 adapted at. 92 to support a load and mounted from the first frame 44 by a plurality of fluid rams 76, 77, 78, 79 pivotally interconnecting the two frames. The rams may be operated in. various combinations by a single universally mounted handle 90 on either the frame 44 or platform 32, whereby various attitudes of the frame 74 may be obtained to facilitate the final positioning of a load.. Elevation of the frame 44 and the platforms 32, 33 is controlled by hydraulic selector valves 30, 31, 49 on the platform 32 on which the operators may ride. Each of the ram devices 45, 46, Fig. 2, (not shown); comprises four telescoping sections enclosing a fluid piston and cylinder which through pulleys and. cables interconnecting the various sections causes expansion and retraction thereof. The telescoping action is effected by cables anchored to the first or bottom telescopic section and passing over pulleys on the end of the piston, the cylinder of which is fixed relative to the first section, and anchored at their other ends to the third section, and further cables anchored to the second and fourth sections and therebetween passing over pulleys mounted on the third section. The platforms. and frames. may alternatively be actuated by pneumatic, electric or mechanical means.
