Abstract

933,837. Shuttering for casting concrete. JAMES GRUNDY & CO. Ltd. April 19, 1962 [May 6, 1961], No. 16536/61. Class 20 (2). Shuttering for casting marginal strips X between two of which roads are cast, comprises forms 10 held parallel and opened and closed by lifting devices each having points to which lifting means are connected, two points for causing inward movement of the forms to casting position and another point for causing outward movement to release the casting. The lifting device consists of two bars 14 between the ends of which are pivoted arms 13 adapted to be connected to the forms 10. A vertical bar 16 is slidable between the bars 14 and is pivotally connected to the ends of levers 15 pivoted on the arms 13. When lifting means is connected to the upper end of the bar 16 the arms 13 and forms are moved apart to release the casting. When lifting means is connected to the outer ends of the levers 15 the forms are moved towards one another into casting position. The forms are also held the correct distance apart by spacers 20, Fig. 7, each comprising a cross-piece 20a and pins 20c adapted to be wedged in sockets in the forms. The forms are levelled by jacks.
